Diamond Offshore Profit Surges in 1Q

Net income rose to $145.3 million, or $1.06 per share, from $30.1 million, or 23 cents per share, a year ago. Revenue increased to $447.7 million from $258.8 million. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial were expecting a profit of 98 cents per share on revenue of $427.9 million.
