Hanjin Shipping will establish a joint venture company scheduled for operation in Colombo, Sri Lanka on July 1, 2006.

Navigation Maritime Colombo (PVT) Ltd, Hanjin’s joint venture partner, has served as an agency for the Korea’s largest carrier since 1995.

Colombo is the administrative capital and center of commerce and trade of Sri Lanka. Along with Mumbai, Navasheva of India, and Karachi of Pakistan, Colombo is one of major calling and transshipment ports in the Bay of Bengal region.
