AHN reported that Taiwanese maritime authorities have as saying that a Chinese cargo ship sank off Japan’s southern islands, killing 2 out of 25 crewmen on board. 3 others were reportedly injured but a joint Taiwan and Japan rescue mission saved the sailors. Coastguard officials said that the rescue mission came to action after Taiwan informed Japan’s coastguard that a Panama registered ship disappeared near Iriomote island in the Pacific. All 25 crewmembers were Chinese nationals.
