A thousand people signed a petition that was handed into Downing Street calling for the dredging of a Cornish harbour to help boost the Westcountry economy. Earlier this year, the multi-million pound Port of Falmouth Masterplan was unveiled and promises to create more than 800 new jobs. Dredging the harbour would allow larger cruise liners to dock at Falmouth, pumping extra tourism pounds into local businesses and the wider Westcountry economy.
