MISC Berhad (MISC) plans to sell 16 containerships as the company is exiting the liner business .
According to MISC in a reply to Bloomberg, the company plans to conduct sales within about six months and any containership not sold in that period will be kept in “a short re-activation mode” until the end of 2012, including manning and maintenance. MISC will also explore possibilities of sub-leasing chartered-in vessels or return them to owners early.
