Navig8 and Gulf Navigation announce that Gulf Navigation have agreed to enter the 2007 built VLCC “Gulf Sheba” into the VL8 Pool, managed by Navig8.

In addition to the inclusion of the Gulf Sheba in the pool, Gulf Navigation will also participate in Chartering and Business Development activities involving companies based in the Arabian Gulf.

Gulf Navigation, based in Dubai is listed on the Dubai Financial Market and owns and operates a fleet of 10 Tankers, including 2 VLCC’s and 8 Chemical Tankers. It also awaits delivery of two newbuilding VLCC’s due for delivery in 2013.

Navig8 currently operates a fleet of 157 Tankers, out of offices in Dubai/London/New York/Singapore/Seoul/Shanghai.

Ugo Romano, VL8’s Pool Director based in Dubai says “We are delighted to add Gulf Navigation’s first VLCC into our pool, bringing our fleet to 13 modern VLCC’s. We welcome them as a pool member and strategic partner, adding further strength to our network in the region”.

Atle Sebjornsen, CEO of Gulf Navigation commented “What we see in Navig8 is a solid and well organized group which has been able to maintain a flat organization structure through a period of substantial growth across segments. We believe Navig8, through its structure and scale combined with fast decision making ability, is very well positioned to tackle the challenges facing our industry in today’s volatile environment. We are delighted to join the VL8 Pool and look forward to making an active and positive contribution going forward”.
