On 30th July, 2012, specialists of Vyborg Shipyard completed works on fabrication of steel sections of the air finishers’ block which is a part of the NITKA training range being under construction in Eysk.

That way Vyborg Shipyard in full scope and in contract dates has performed its obligations under the 1st phase of the contract concluded in March 2012 with “Proletarsky Zavod” JSC on fabrication, transportation and erection of steel structures of the air finishers’ block.

Total number of the fabricated sections is 112 with their weight of 1100 t.

Careful planning and project management enabled Vyborg Shipyard specialists to perform ahead of schedule some additional works, such as installation of insulation and lining on a part of the fabricated sections, while these works are referred to the scope of the further contract phases.

At the present time the fabricated sections are prepared for shipment to the erection site in Eysk. Some sections are already delivered to the site on 26th July to carry out all necessary preparatory works prior to arrival of the main part of the steel structures.

The NITKA is a special naval pilot ground-based training facility of the Russian Navy imitating a carrier deck. Its main purpose is training of take-off/ landing techniques by carrier pilots.
