Nobel Brothers Shipyard two days ago, on Nov. 20, hosted naming and launching ceremony for vessel Julius Makarenkov, the third tanker of Project RST-25 that is constructed for Moscow River Shipping Company.
Project RST25, designed by the Marine Engineering Bureau, is a completely new type of river-sea tankers with a higher class of ecological safety and automation. RST25 is a self-propelled oil tanker of mixed (river-sea) class with 6 cargo tanks for the transport of crude oil and oil products including gasoline, with no limit on flash point and the ability to carry two different kinds of goods simultaneously.
Distinctive features of the project’s tankers are the use of full-turning rudder-propellers as united facilities of movement and direction, the absence of longitudinal bulkhead in the center plane, the use of submersible pumps and complete lack of recruitment in cargo tanks.
