DSME recently acquired the Green Management System (GMS) certificate. On 23 November, DSME’s Chief Production Officer, Mr. Dong Hyuk Park, handed over the GMS certificate from DNV Business Assurance.

The main purpose of the GMS is to reward companies for growth and environmental sustainability. The GMS certificate is based on the ISO 14001 and evaluates four main areas: management performance indicators, controlling energy, reducing greenhouse gases, and corporate social responsibility.

In 1997, DSME acquired the first international environmental management standard ISO 14001 in the shipbuilding industry. In last year’s sustainability evaluation, DSME obtained ‘AAA’ grade which is the highest grade possible. DSME has also participated in the Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) reduction campaign.
