Woodside to Develop Browse Reserves Using Shell’s FLNG Technology

Australia’s Woodside has entered into an agreement with Shell that sets out the key principles that would apply if the Browse resources are developed using Shell’s Floating LNG (FLNG) technology.

Petrofac Strikes Oil at Cendor, Malaysia

Malaysia’s oil giant Petronas has announced the successful drilling of Cendor Graben-2 appraisal well within Block PM304 offshore Peninsula Malaysia. The well was drilled to a depth of over 1,000 metres and confirmed the presence of oil and some gas-bearing reservoirs. Drilling was undertaken by Petrofac.

First Steel Cut for Cygnus Jackets. Project Creates 100 Jobs (UK)

The ceremonial first cut of steel for the construction of the jackets on the Cygnus gas field project was celebrated this week by operator GDF SUEZ E&P UK and partners Centrica Energy and Bayerngas at Burntisland Fabrication’s (BiFab) Methil yard in Fife, Scotland.

Apache Brings Tonto Oil Field to Production (UK)

Apache Corporation has announced that its Tonto oil field in the United Kingdom sector of the North Sea commenced production on April 24, 2013. Tonto-1, the first producing well, came on stream at an initial rate of 10,346 barrels of oil per day.
