Nauta Shiprepair Yard held, on July 10th, a commemorative steel cutting ceremony for the partly outfitted Platform Supply Vessel. The vessel is being built for the Norwegian client Hellesøy Verft AS.

The vessel is of VS 4411 DF design with an overall length of 89 meters and a beam of 19 meters and with maximum 5,500 dwt. The ship is designed in collaboration with Wärtsilä Ship Design, and will have a dual fuel system for the use of either LNG or Marine Diesel Oil.

This newbuild will be equipped with the most modern solutions for fire-fighting and emergency preparedness, a deck of approx. 970m2 and under deck capacities well suited for the intended operations.

The PSV is scheduled to be operational from 2014 and will serve the Martin Linge oilfield, North-West of Stavanger, Norway. It has been designed to specifically meet TOTAL’s North Sea operational requirements.

The vessel will be owned and operated by Siem Offshore on a charter contract for TOTAL.
