Prospector Offshore Drilling S.A. (PROS) has taken delivery of jack-up rig PROSPECTOR 1 from Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Co., Ltd. in Dalian, China.
PROSPECTOR 1 is the first in the Company’s series of six high specification, harsh environment jack-up drilling rigs built to the Friede and Goldman JU2000E design.

Rose, the Company President and Chief Executive Officer , commented today: “ Our strategy is to own and operate a modern fleet of high specification jack-up rigs that are capable of working in harsh environments around the world. Taking delivery of PROSPECTOR 1 marks a significant milestone on the road to implementing this strategy. The rig will now be mobilized to the UK sector of the North Sea where it is contracted to work for Total E&P UK Limited and Elf Exploration UK Limited.
