Ken Harford, P.Eng, President of Robert Allan Ltd., Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, announced the establishment of the fifth generation of ownership of this internationally recognized Canadian company.
Founded in 1930 in Vancouver, BC by Mr. Robert Allan (Generation 1), the company continued under the creative guidance of his son Robert F. (Bob) Allan (Generation 2) and then his grandson Robert G. (Rob) Allan (Generation 3) until the transfer of ownership to a group of ten senior employees in 2008 (Generation 4). A critical part of the transfer of family ownership to the employees was the objective of establishing an on-going process of ownership growth and participation amongst committed employees, and the creation of this fifth generation of owners at Robert Allan Ltd. is an important milestone in fulfilling that objective.
“This diverse group of talented engineers and naval architects brings a wide range of skills and experience to Robert Allan Ltd., building further on an already solid foundation of design talent, to continue to provide innovative and leading edge “Endurable Designs” for our clients worldwide,” the company said in a press release.
Mr. Rob Allan remains active as the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Ken Harford remains as President of the Company.
