A new very large gantry crane is being installed at the STX France’s Saint-Nazaire yard. With a speed of 50 cm every 5 minutes, the touchy erection of the crane started last week.
This nonstandard industrial facility, able to lift loads up to 1,400 tons, reached today 66 meters in high. Within the coming days, the “giant” legs will be fastened into the boggies, rolling system enabling it to circulate all along the pre-erection area.
