A company representative of China’s Sinopec Corp said that the company is planning to start trial operations at its first liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal by the end of October, Reuters reports.

The first cargo will be delivered to the Quingdao city LNG terminal by an undisclosed supplier by the end of next month, the representative disclosed.

In 2009, Sinopec and Exxon Mobil signed a contract for 2 million tonnes of LNG a year from Exxon’s Papua New Guinea project.

Currently, China has 10 operational LNG terminals, majority of which are operated by China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) and PetroChina.
