Samsung scores LNG tanker order

Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) said it has secured an order for three new LNG carriers worth USD 620 million. Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) said it has secured an order for three new LNG carriers worth USD 620 million.

The 174,000-cbm vessels have been ordered by an unnamed Asian company and will be delivered by 2018.

The vessels will have dual-fuel engines to increase efficiency and reduce emissions, according to a statement by Samsung.
