Nasdaq-listed tanker owner and operator Top Ships Inc. has sold and leased back two of its MR2 tankers, the M/T StenaWeco Energy and the M/T StenaWeco Evolution.
The 2014-built, 49,737 dwt StenaWeco Energy and the 50,000 dwt newbuilding StenaWeco Evolution are expected to change hands in the first quarter of 2015.
Following the sales, Top Ships will bareboat charter back both vessels and continue to operate them for seven years. In addition, the company has options to buy back the vessels after three years.
