“On 27th of August, members of the Management Board of Port of Tallinn Ain Kaljurand and Allan Kiil resigned due to bribery suspicion, ” the port said in a release.

The duo has been detained by the police for systematic taking of bribery linked to Esteve terminal and HTG Invest, long-term partners of the Port of Tallinn. The exact amount of the bribe has not been disclosed apart from saying that “an extensive amount” was in question.

As informed, on the same day, the Supervisory Board appointed Marko Raid, the current Chief Financial Officer, and Carri Ginter, attorney, as temporary members of the Management Board.

The port is expected to issue a public competition notice soon to fill the said positions full time.
