Search efforts continued today to locate a 46-year-old man who fell off the Royal Caribbean Cruises’ cruise ship Navigator of the Seas in the evening hours on Friday, according to the US Coast Guard.

At the time of the incident the vessel was sailing some 36 nautical miles south of Carysfort Reef Light, off the coast of Key Largo, Florida.

The man, identified as David Mossman from Texas, fell approximately 100 feet from the 10th deck of the cruise ship into the water, the authorities informed.

After an urgent marine information broadcast was issued, the coast guard cutter Gannet was launched to begin searching for Mossman.
