South Hook LNG terminal located on the shores of the Milford Haven waterway is due to receive a cargo of Qatari liquefied natural gas this week.

The Nakilat-owned Q-Flex LNG carrier “Al Ghashamiya” is on its way from the Qatari port of Ras Laffan and is scheduled to dock at the South Hook terminal’s jetty on March 20, port data reveals.

The 217,000 cbm LNG tanker is chartered on a long-term contract to Qatar Liquefied Gas Company Limited (3), known as Qatargas 3.

The Qatargas 3 project operates an LNG “mega-train” (Train 6) with a capacity of 7.8 million tonnes per annum. Production from Train 6 started in November 2010.

Qatargas 3 shareholders are Qatar Petroleum (68.5%), ConocoPhillips (30% ) and Mitsui & Co. (1.5%).
