GC Rieber Shipping has agreed a charter extension with DeepOcean for the SURF vessel Polar Onyx.
The deal will be in direct continuation of the ongoing charter in Ghana.
Norwegian shipowner said the extension will see the vessel stay with DeepOcean until the end of May 2021.
Built in 2014, the subsea construction vessel joined the DeepOcean fleet in 2018.
The initial contract had a three-year fixed period with options to extend by up to two years.
The Polar Onyx is supporting DeepOcean’s Ghana campaign for Tullow Oil .
The vessel replaced the Dina Star with some overlapping period in Q1 2018. This allowed the Polar Onyx to continue working with Tullow Ghana to provide inspection and light well intervention services on Tullow’s Jubilee and TEN fields until March 2021.
