Norwegian ship designer and shipbuilder VARD, a subsidiary of Italy’s Fincantieri Group, has opened a new office in Vietnam, covering several key ship design disciplines, as the company says.
The new office for Vard Design and Engineering Vietnam (VDV) Centre, located in Ho Chi Minh City, includes plans to grow the team to more than 40 engineers in the coming years.
According to the company, it brings together engineers across several key ship design disciplines, including structure, piping and machinery, HVAC, naval architecture, hydrostatics, stability, and marine electrical.
"Beyond expanding our expertise, the new centre creates even more opportunities for collaboration across VARD’s international design network. Allowing our teams to share knowledge, experience, standards and best practices," VARD said on social media. "The centre opens new career opportunities for talented engineers in Vietnam who want to develop their expertise and contribute to the design of advanced vessels."
