Dutch thermoplastic composite pipe (TCP) manufacturer Strohm has secured an order from McDermott for four TCP jumpers to be installed at a Southeast Asian ultra-deepwater field.
The gas production jumpers, procured and installed by McDermott’s Subsea and Floating Facilities business line, on behalf of a "large international operator", will be deployed using a vertical lay system (VLS).
The four 6.9-inch internal diameter carbon fibre PA12 jumpers, with an average length of 1,000 meters each, will be installed in water depths exceeding 2,200 meters.
Strohm said that the contract was medium-sized, which it defines as one worth between €10 million and €20 million.
"This award strengthens our presence in Southeast Asia and positions us to support the next phase of deepwater energy development in this growing market," said Strohm’s Vice President for Middle East & Asia-Pacific, Fabienne Ellington. “We are also pleased to continue our longstanding collaboration with McDermott, whose extensive installation experience with our pipe systems has delivered results across offshore developments worldwide.”
