Gazpromneft, STASCO Extend Bunkering Cooperation

Operator of the Gazprom Neft bunkering business, Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, has started fuel supplies to Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited’s (STASCO) vessels in the Black Sea region.

The company said that the activities are being undertaken with the 2008-built oil and chemical tanker Gazpromneft Omsk, which is delivering 1,480 tonnes of heavy heating oil to the 115,000 dwt crude oil tanker Iasonas at Russia’s port of Tuapse.

Under the agreement with STASCO, which was finalized in February this year, the company plans to deliver bunkering fuel throughout the Northwest region, with geographic range potentially being further extended under subsequent collaboration.

Initial fuel supplies were made at the port of Primorsk in March, with cooperation subsequently extended to include a vetting inspection of the Gazpromneft Omsk, following which the vessel was approved to fulfill orders from STASCO, Gazprom Neft said.

“We plan to further consolidate our leading position in the Russian bunkering market, developing cooperation with major Russian and international bunkering companies,” Andrey Vasilyev, CEO, Gazpromneft Marine Bunker, said.
