Philly Shipyard, the U.S. unit of Philly Shipyard ASA, delivered the American Liberty, the third of four LNG-ready product tankers it is building for American Petroleum Tankers (APT), a Kinder Morgan unit.

The 50,000-dwt product tanker is based on a Hyundai Mipo Dockyards (HMD) design, and it has been given an LNG Ready Level 1 approval from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).

The 600-foot tanker has a carrying capacity of 14.5 million gallons of crude oil or refined products.

Earlier this year, the company laid the keel for the fourth tanker in the series with the delivery planned before the end of the year.
