Repasa performs LNG berthing duties with two new Damen tugs

On October 13th, Repasa’s ASD Tugs assisted the berthing of an LNG tanker in Equatorial Guinea.

Yesterday the two Damen Stan Tugs 1606, outfitted as line handling boats, sailed to the buoy to receive another tanker for their first mission in Equatorial Guinea.

“For Repasa, this is a successful start of its new joint venture with P&O Maritime,” Damen said in a statement.

The Damen Stan Tugs 1606, Red Ant and Red Bee, are the first Damen builds in Repasa’s fleet of workboats which also includes AHT and ASD tugs.

Damen constructed the vessels to the Stan Tug design at Damen Shipyards Gorinchem in the Netherlands.

The Red Ant and the Red Bee were delivered to family-owned Repasa in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea at the end of September, less than two months after contract signing,” Damen added.
