Sinopacific Offshore 2011 in Norway marked the beginning of the strategic upgrading of Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group in the offshore sector, and the purpose of this conference is to exhibit their strengths and resolution in the offshore sector to the leading world leading offshore suppliers and establish closer and more extensive cooperative relationships with suppliers and other partners.

The Shanghai-based company, which employs over 20,000 people in its yards, is one of the fastest-growing companies in China’s shipbuilding industry and a Chinese shipbuilding enterprise with highest degree of internationalization. In the past 8 years since its incorporation, Sinopacific has experienced a gradual evolution from learning to proprietary R&D capacity and from initial market development to strategy of supply chain integration, including the capacity to manage and integrate international projects. In the word, Sinopacific is forging ahead step by step towards predefined target.

On September 1st this year, Sinopacific established their branch company in Fosnavaag Norway to assist the group company in further integrating equipment supply chain, especially in offshore field in an attempt to reduce production cycle for high-end offshore support vessels in China. The new Norwegian branch company is expected to provide technical support and production/management advice for the shipyard, serving as a contact between shipyard, shipowner and design company and play an important and effective role in maintaining excellent relationships for various parties.

Faced with adverse environment in the international shipping market, Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group will further intensify quality management and internal control next year for constant improvement and leverage process innovation to push product quality onto a higher stage. Sinopacific hopes that higher quality products from its company will help shipowners to improve competitiveness in operation and win the challenges.

Simon Liang, Chairman& CEO of Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group said: “Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group is an international enterprise driven by strategy and technology. Based on our predefined strategy, we take every potential region as our market. Norway is a leader in offshore sector and implements very high standards and rigorous requirements in environmental protection and safety to deal with extremely adverse climate. From strategic perspective, we take learning and cooperative attitude to establish our branch company and organize conference in Norway. In addition to closer interaction with Norwegian offshore industry, we also would like to show our open mentality and progressive attitude.”

With focus on leading in different shipbuilding niche markets, Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group now has got leading position in bulk carriers building and offshore vessels building. Based on Sinopacific’s forward-looking product strategy, it is specialized in manufacturing commercial vessels in its Yangzhou Dayang shipyard. According to Clarksons statistic data in late October, Sinopacific has maintained the 5th ranking in the world in vessel delivery volume for Handymax (40,000-60,000T bulk carriers).

In 2011, Sinopacific ranks first in order quantity for Ultramax (60,000-64,000T bulk carriers) in the world (accounting for 36% in the world and 85% in China for orders of similar ships). After Crown 63 super handy-size bulk carrier, proprietarily designed and built by the company, was launched to market, it immediately won extensive favor from strategic investors in shipping industry for their advantages in safety, environmental protection and advanced technology. The first Crown 63 is expected to be delivered in Q1 next year.

Zhejiang Shipbuilding, another shipyard under Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group, is specialized in manufacturing offshore support vessels. The Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) Vessels and Platform Supply Vessels (PSV) they built have both rank the first in global market share. With constant expansion and reputation in the offshore sector, Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group is intensifying interaction with Norwegian side. On the other hand, with constant improvement in its capacity of offshore projects management and supply chain integration, it is further intensifying its leading position in offshore vessels sector by deeper and wider strategic cooperation with its suppliers.

Through this offshore conference in Norway, we will further intensify our capacity in building offshore support vessels and win extensive commendation from enterprises in the OSV sector. Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group is becoming a trustworthy partner for shipowners and suppliers if there is suitable opportunity.
