USA: Navis Launches New Terminal Operating System SPARCS N4 Release 2.2

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation and the global technology standard for managing the movement of cargo through terminals, today announced the launch of its SPARCS N4 release 2.2 terminal operating system (TOS). The new release of SPARCS N4 includes enhancements to existing features and new modules for managing General Cargo and Equipment Control, including Multi-Lift operations and Port Telematics Solutions, which support faster vessel turn-around and increase terminal operators’ capability to manage cargo efficiently.

“As carriers add larger vessels and shippers demand greater service reliability and predictability, the need for stable, well-planned and efficient terminal operations is essential for the global supply chain. This latest release of Navis SPARCS N4 provides a flexible and scalable platform for terminal operators to improve services and support new capabilities for their customers, ” said Bill Walsh, president and CEO of Navis, LLC.

Looking beyond the new modules of the Navis operating system, this new release offers more flexibility to configure and customize SPARCS N4. These enhancements enable users to integrate more types of hardware and ease the exchange of information gathered from equipment, allowing users to better manage overall performance. The greater “openness” of the system gives terminal customers new opportunities to provide their network of users easier access to shipment details and helps streamline business processes. This functionality ultimately provides terminal operators with improved competitive advantages.

“In this new release of SPARCS N4, we continued with our strict quality testing process, the most stringent in the industry, while adding significant new functionality for our customers,” said Frank Kooijman, VP of engineering, Navis. “It all adds up to ensuring we provide the most stable and scalable platform to meet the current and future needs of the industry.”
