Jersey’s shipping industry is to be the subject of a study by the island’s competition authority. The investigation, requested by Economic Development Minister Philip Ozouf will cover ferries, freight and port services.

It will look at competition levels, fee and price structures, and measures that could be taken to improve efficiency.

The authority said it would also look at whether consumer and local firms’ interests were adequately protected.
