The Ministry of Defence took delivery yesterday of the third of a four-strong class of naval landing ships built at Govan to support British military operations worldwide. The 16,000-tonne Cardigan Bay will join its Royal Fleet Auxiliary sisters Mounts Bay and Largs Bay after completing sea trials.
