IHC Engineering Business (IHC EB) announces the appointment of Jon Dale as Managing Director IHC Engineering Business.

Neil Baxter has been the Managing Director since February 2011 having joined with the specific objective of strengthening the management capabilities and systems within IHC EB to better position the business to take advantage of the significant growth opportunities within the offshore oil & gas and wind power markets.

Over this time Neil has led the business during the successful delivery of IHC EB’s first J-Lay pipelay system to Saipem which is now moving on to its third pipelay contract. The business has significantly strengthened its order book securing over £120million of new business including three pipelay systems that are the key mission equipment as part of the supply of three fully integrated IHC Offshore & Marine pipelay vessels. The senior management team has been strengthened with the introduction of highly experienced executives in Finance, Operations and Engineering.

Having developed a more solid platform for the future and with significant new business opportunity in our served markets now is the ideal time for Neil to hand over his responsibilities. I am therefore very pleased to announce that Jon Dale joins IHC EB as Managing Director. Jon has a strong track record and experience of delivering sustained and profitable growth in large and complex projects businesses serving high integrity markets. Jon is a highly experienced business leader having led companies such as Whessoe Oil & Gas and Cleveland Bridge during periods of growth. “ We are delighted that Jon has decided to join IHC EB now and know that he is very well equipped to help grow and develop EB in the years to come . Jon starts his new role with effect from 14th May.

“IHC EB forms part of the Offshore Division within IHC Merwede and plays a key part in our strategy of developing and offering fully integrated specialist vessels and mission equipment particularly in offshore pipe and cable lay sectors. As MD of IHC EB Jon will play a key part within the senior management team of the Offshore Division and I look forward to working closely with him” said Arjan Klijnsoon, Group Managing Director, IHC Offshore Division .
