Following the recent purchase of CARIS software by Fototerra, CARIS recently completed two weeks of training for Fototerra and Petrobras personnel in Macaé, Brazil. The software sale and training was coordinated by CARIS strategic alliance partner Intelligent Maritime Solutions (IMS).

The training was delivered by CARIS´ Eduardo Infante and covered the use of CARIS HIPS and SIPS, BASE Editor and the Engineering Analysis Module. Special attention was given to the processing of bathymetric data from ROV and AUV platforms, which is an essential aspect of pipe inspection survey projects. The training provided a great opportunity for CARIS to become more familiar with Fototerra and Petrobras´ operations.

Fototerra is a Brazilian Geo Information Technology company founded in 1993 with leading competence and expertise in airborne-captured geographic data acquisition, offshore geomatics and is a solution provider in all areas of data processing, including software development and GIS solutions.
