Overnight the Volvo Ocean Race fleet has been floundering in pockets of little or no wind. The five yachts first started snaking around to the northwest as they hit the wall of no wind, before gybing back to the west when what little wind there was had changed direction.
Looking at the wind plots for conditions ahead of the boats, the boats will be sailing slightly freer and therefore faster for a short while, and will be in slightly more wind before the inevitable light to nonexistant conditions seem to be lying in wait for the boats.
