2019 Rewind: Videos of the year

LNG shipping giant Teekay released a video of the 172,000-cbm Eduard Toll moving through the ice on the Northern Sea Route en route to China.

The vessel made the first Northern Sea Route transit, carrying a Yamal LNG cargo to Asian-Pacific markets entering the open water in the Chukchi Sea and heading towards the Chinese port of Jiangsu Rudong.

In February, Japanese shipping giant MOL recently posted a video of the world’s largest floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in operation in the Turkish port of Dörtyol, Hatay.

The MOL FSRU Challenger has an LNG storage capacity of 263,000 cubic meters and has re-shipment and gas transfer capabilities. The unit has a regas discharge capacity of 540 million cubic meters per day.

Also in February, Tango FLNG, previously known as the Caribbean FLNG, owned by the Nicolas Saverys-led shipowner Exmar, arrived in Argentina.

The floating LNG unit will stay in Argentina and produce LNG for export for the Argentinian energy company YPF over a 10-year period.

There way a fair amount of LNG tankers’ gas trials during the year, but Teekay LNG Partners released a video of the fourth vessel in a Shell-chartered quartet, the Pan Africa, completing its sea trials in February.

Upon delivery, the Pan Africa immediately commenced its 20-year charter contract with Shell.
