FERC approves Sabine Pass LNG feeder pipeline

The United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission granted a certificate to Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line to construct and operate the Gulf Trace expansion project.

Transco intends to construct and operate pipeline, compression, metering, and appurtenant facilities that would transport natural gas to Cheniere’s Sabine Pass liquefaction plant in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

Transco states that the proposed project will enable it to provide 1,200,000 dekatherms (Dth) per day of incremental firm transportation service through the proposed Gulf Trace Lateral to the Sabine Pass LNG terminal under a 20-year deal.

FERC said in its filing that it has amended its authorization to Cheniere allowing it to install piping and valves to deliver gas received from Transco’s proposed Gulf Trace expansion project to its liquefaction project facilities.
