Japan’s Inpex Corporation began supplying natural gas to the Hokuriku Factory of Asahi Soft Drinks through the Toyama Line extension completed in June last year.

Inpex has begun supplying natural gas including regasified LNG from Naoetsu LNG terminal, based on a natural gas sales and purchase agreement signed between Inpex and Asahi Soft Drinks in November 2016, the company said in a statement.

The agreement provides the Hokuriku Factory of Asahi Soft Drinks with access to a long-term supply of natural gas and will help it to reduce annual CO2 emissions by roughly 14 percent through the conversion of its fuel source from LPG to natural gas.

The Toyama Line is a 103 km extension of the natural gas trunk pipeline network supplying natural gas from the Naoetsu LNG terminal in Joetsu City, Japan.
