Origin Energy’s integrated gas CEO, David Baldwin, will step down from the role at the end of April 2017, with the current general manager, commercial, Mark Schubert, had been appointed executive general manager, integrated gas, effective 1 May.

Baldwin will remain with Origin for a period of time as an advisor to the CEO to assist on key projects, the company said in its statement on Tuesday.

With over 11 years at Origin, Baldwin played an important role in the execution of the Australia Pacific LNG project.

Origin CEO, Frank Calabria said, that “prior to his current role, David was CEO of our LNG business and successfully merged it with our conventional gas assets to form Integrated Gas.”

Before that, he was CEO and managing director of Contact Energy in New Zealand, where he led Contact’s strategic shift from thermal generation growth to renewables.

“With Australia Pacific LNG on track to complete its final milestones – and Origin’s decision to sell its conventional upstream business – David has decided that it is the right time for him to step down,” Calabria said.

Schubert joined Origin in May 2015 as general manager, commercial and strategy for Integrated Gas following an 18-year career with Shell.

He has more than 10 years’ senior management experience in oil and gas operations spanning green field and brown field, commercial, supply, logistics and major facility asset management.
