1) Australia: Woodside to Explore FLNG at Browse

Woodside said that it has entered into an agreement with Shell that sets out the key principles that would apply if the Browse resources are developed using Shell’s Floating LNG (FLNG) technology.

2) Hoegh LNG: Lithuania FSRU Construction in Full Swing

Höegh LNG of Norway said Friday that its floating LNG storage and regasification unit (FSRU) to be used as an LNG import terminal in Lithuania is almost complete for launching.

3) USA: GE to Buy Salof, Leader in Small-Scale LNG Technologies

GE Oil & Gas said that it has agreed to acquire all of the assets of Schertz, Texas-based Salof Companies, a designer of small–scale LNG technologies.

4) Sinopec, China Shipping, MOL JV Orders Six LNG Carriers

Sinopec Kantons, China Shipping Development, and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines announced that they have entered into the agreements with Hudong – Zhonghua and China Shipbuilding for the construction of six LNG carriers with an anticipated total project costs of approximately US$1,510,000,000.

5) CLNG: LNG Not the Cause of Alabama Barge Explosions (USA)

The Center for Liquefied Natural Gas (CLNG) released the statement with regard to the April 24 explosions that engulfed two barges in flames in Mobile, Alabama..
