Israeli and European Investors Interested in Cyprus LNG Project

Israeli and European investors are interested in financing a planned LNG terminal at the Vasilikos area in Cyprus, Reuters cited Charles Ellinas, head of the island’s national hydrocarbons company (CNHC) as saying.

We have 3 serious financial options to look into. This makes us confident that we can start the construction of the Vasiliko LNG plant in 2016,” he said.

We will hold serious discussions with investors early next year,” he added.

Cyprus is planning to construct a $6 billion LNG terminal, which will include facilities for the import, storage and regasification of liquefied natural gas, to process natural gas from offshore fields now under development.
