Air Liquide acquires Liquefin LNG tech

Paris-based Air Liquide said it has acquired a dual mixed refrigerant technology called Liquefin from the French public research company IFPEN.

In a statement issued earlier this week, Air Liquide said the acquisition comprises patents and technical know-how on the process that enables reductions and scalable output of LNG.

With the acquisition of Liquefin, targeting mid-to-large scale LNG projects, and Air Liquide’s existing liquefaction technology for small-scale and small to mid-size LNG projects, the company can now “provide equipment for small to large scale applications”.

Vice president and chairman, Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions, Domenico D’Ella, said that with the acquisition the company is extending its access and connection to engineering and procurement actors, focusing on natural gas-rich markets.
