Awilco LNG of Norway Takes Delivery of Its First Newbuilding
Awilco LNG of Norway said that it has taken delivery of its first 156,000 cbm newbuilding – “WilForce” from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of South Korea.
The vessel was delivered on budget approximately 16 days delayed compared to original contract, the company said in a statement.
The vessel was subsequently sold to Teekay LNG Partners and bareboat chartered back by Awilco LNG for a period of five years plus a one-year extension option.
Chief Executive Officer of Awilco LNG, Jon Skule Storheill, said:
“We are very pleased to take delivery of the vessel which is built to the highest standard and latest eco-friendly technology that we are looking forward to present to the market“.
