Ballydehob Council Invites Bids for Dredging Feasibility Study

Ballydehob Area Community Council has invited tenders for a feasibility study to assess all aspects of dredging an in-harbour area, including the suitability of a receptor site for the spoil and development of an amenity area.

The objective of this study will be to bring both aspects of the project, if deemed viable, to the next tender stage of capital works.

This project proposes to dredge an area between the Three Arch Bridge and the tidal Barrage to improve the amenity value of the estuary.

The second aspect of the project is to develop an adjoining area into an amenity site which will include recreational areas and parking for nearby schools and camper vans.

The deadline for this tender is February 15, 2013.
