Borgland Dolphin Contract Extended (Norway)

Dolphin Drilling has secured a contract extension for its Borgland Dolphin semi-submersible drilling rig with a consortium consisting of 8 oil companies, managed by Rig Management Norway AS.

The contract, originally signed in September 2012, has been extended from a 15 well drilling contract to an 18 well drilling contract.

The new estimated duration for the drilling program is 3.5 years. The contract value is now set at approximately USD 663 million.

Borgland Dolphin is a semi-submersible Aker H-3 rig. It was built at Harland & Wolff in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1977 and underwent extensive upgrades in 1999. The rig is owned by Borgland Dolphin Pte Ltd and operated by Dolphin Drilling A/S.
