BP Extends Operating Life of Ula Oil Export Pipeline

BP has received consent to extend the operating life of the Ula oil export pipeline.

BP Norge (BP) is the operator of the Ula field, located in the southern North Sea. It is located in about 70 meters of water, and consists of three conventional steel facilities.

The oil from Ula is transported to Teesside in England via Ekofisk field through a 20” pipeline.

The export pipeline from Ula to Ekofisk was installed in 1984 and commissioned in 1986, with a planned operating life of 30 years. It is pipeline is 74 kilometers long.

Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has given BP consent to operate the pipeline until the production licence expires on December 31, 2028.
