Burbo Bank 2 Blades Arriving to Belfast (Gallery)

Blades for MHI Vestas 8MW wind turbines which will spin at the 258MW Burbo Bank Extension wind farm started arriving to Belfast, the Belfast Harbour reported via social media.

The first tower components for the Burbo Bank Extension project begun arriving at MHI Vestas’ pre-assembly site in the Belfast Harbour in May.

The project lies off the coast of Liverpool Bay, in the UK. When installed, the 32 wind turbines will produce enough energy to meet the electricity requirements for approximately 180,000 houses, approximately 30 percent of the greater Liverpool area.

The first of 32 MHI Vestas 8MW turbines will be installed in September, and commissioning is expected to be completed in 2017.
