Burbo Bank Extension Topside Meets Jacket (Gallery)

Engie Fabricom and Iemants completed the load-out of the topside for the 258MW Burbo Bank Extension offshore wind farm at the ENGIE Fabricom’s Hoboken yard on 30 May.

The 1180-tonne topside was placed next to the 985-tonne offshore substation jacket on the pontoon. The jacket was loaded onto the pontoon on 11 May.

The topside and the jacket are scheduled to leave ENGIE Fabricom’s facilities towards their final destination off the west coast of England in June.

Burbo Bank Extension will consist of 32 turbines and will be the first large-scale wind farm to deploy the new MHI Vestas 8.0 MW turbine. The wind farm is expected to be fully commissioned in the first half of 2017.

The wind farm, located 8 kilometres off the coast in Liverpool Bay is an addition to the operational Burbo Bank.
