Cheniere cancels LNG truck loading station plans at Sabine Pass

Cheniere Energy recently filed a letter with the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission withdrawing its application to build truck loading facilities at its Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana.

According to the company’s filing with FERC, the application is being withdrawn as “its customers are focused primarily on the completion of construction and placement in service of the liquefaction trains at the Sabine Pass liquefaction project at present.”

Under its initial plans submitted to the commission in November last year, Cheniere planned on building two LNG loading stations at the Sabine Pass terminal.

Each loading station was planned to have two “bays” capable of loading LNG transport carriers or International Standards Organization (ISO) containers.

In full operation, the proposed 4 bays would, on average, load up to 80 transport carriers per day with an anticipated volume of LNG to be delivered of about 960,000 gallons per day (3634 cbm per day) by LNG trucks or ISO containers.
