Cheniere sinks to USD 298 million loss

Houston-based LNG player Cheniere reported on Friday a net loss of $297.8 million for the third quarter, compared to a net loss of $89.6 million in the same period in 2014.

Cheniere posted revenue of $66.1 million in the third quarter, almost the same as in 2014.

For the first nine months of this year, Cheniere reported a net loss of $684 million, and revenue of $202.5 million.

This compares to a net loss of $389.3 million and revenue of $202 million for the same period in 2014.

Cheniere is currently building two LNG export plants in Texas, namely the Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi.

The Sabine Pass LNG facility is expected to start receiving feed gas by the end of the year with the first cargo of the chilled gas to be shipped in January,
