Chevron shuffles Asia Pacific management

San Ramon-based energy giant, Chevron informed on Friday it has named Stephen W. Green president of Chevron Asia Pacific exploration and production effective April 1, 2016.

Green will take over the position from Melody B. Meyer who will leave Chevron on June 1 to pursue other opportunities, Chevron’s statement reads.

Meyer played an important role in advancing Chevron’s investments in a number of upstream major capital projects, including Gorgon and Wheatstone LNG projects in Australia.

In his new position, Stephen Green will oversee Chevron’s exploration and production activities in nine countries across the Asia-Pacific region, and  will report to Jay Johnson, Chevron’s executive vice president of upstream.

Previously he served as president of Chevron Indonesia Company and managing director of the Chevron IndoAsia Business unit from 2008 to 2011. During this time, he was responsible for all aspects of the business unit’s oil, gas and geothermal operations.

Green’s current position of corporate vice president of Policy, Government and Public Affairs will be taken up by Joseph M. Naylor, also effective April 1, 2016.

Naylor, who joined Chevron in 1982, and since served in numerous leadership roles, will report to John S. Watson, Chevron’s chairman and chief executive officer.
