China: GDLNG Terminal Safely Received More Than 300 LNG Cargoes

GDLNG has announced that on Jun 14th 2011, after having successfully achieved 5 years safe operation and 1 year continuous reliable gas supply, it has reached another significant milestone of safely receiving 20 million tons (more than 300 cargoes) LNG without accident. This also marks a new record of safety operation for LNG import terminals in the industry.

In order to meet the increased demand of natural gas in Guangdong and Hong Kong area, terminal keeps pace with the times and strives for continuous development and innovation for the existing safety operation management system.

Under the leadership of executive team and substantial support from all other departments, with the joint efforts and solidarity from all operation staff, upgrades and improvements have been made in terms of managerial levels, processing facilities and emergency response capacity.

After a series of key technical innovation projects were implemented in the terminal safely and smoothly, such as the reliability project, PSA nitrogen system put in service, DCS system upgrade, new #4 unloading arm technical reform, #1 tank online maintenance, metering skid hot tapping valve replacement and jetty hook system modification, terminal’s capacity in terms of production, safe and stable gas supply as well as emergency response have been greatly developed, which laid a solid foundation for further throughput increase and company business extension.
